Laboratory of Design for Cognition

Saadi Lahlou heads the Labororatory for Design for Cognition (LDC) at Electricité de France (EDF) R&D in Paris, and initiated RUFAE. LDC experimental spaces contain highly flexible beta versions of future augmented environment facilities. Users employ them for their everyday work for months at a time, with professional support, and full access to their company network, and are monitored with sophisticated observation systems. Environments are improved continuously based on user feedback. The augmented spaces are located in a building specifically designed for continuous user observation, enabling detailed follow-up and realistic prediction of emerging social effects, maintenance costs, and returns of investment prior to wider diffusion.
